I wrote 'Mackage inspired' in the title but I am quite shocked how much this coat looks like my 2008 Mackage coat:
The original Mackage:
The H&M Dragon Tatoo version:
Ok, the Mackage is truely more sophisticated with the leather belt, the delightfully braided-leather pockets and the gorgeous, knitted collar.
However, the idea of the zipper that can pull up on both sides and placed diagonally? Quite a rip-off!
My mackage coat (not in black, btw) has been a true winter staple. Probably my most expensive coat, but cheaper than Mackage is these days.
You can really feel the difference with Mackage and my other coats: that is probably because Mackage is a Canadian brand, and Canadian people do know their stern winters (compared to relatively warm summers). To cope with this kind of weather, you need a superior coat that keeps you toasty.
Moreover, Canadian winters do not allow to show much of your other clothes when on the street, so a good and stylish coat is more essential than almost any other staple of your wardrobe.
