Marant- the haul

Last thursday I went for the easy option by trying to order some Marant 4 H&M online.

* I gotten the shoes I was really after: they looked so deliciously studded in real life, but I returned them as they are slightly too tight around my upperfoot *

*The belt is so well-made and an original addition to my bohemian wardrobe = Score! *

*The monochrome knit felt like being a crossover of a sumo-wrestler and a pandabear. Omg, I do not like oversized sweaters as I work out to maintain a waist/hourglass figure: So why swamp it by ridiculously large sweaters? *

* I also got the scarf that I kind of like but I do not really love it. It is supposed to be silk but I miss the supersilky feeling: I'll keep it as I did not have any bohemian red scarves so far : ) *

The first time I heard about the Issa for Banana Republic collaboration, my heart literary jumped!!! I won't mention Kate Middleton (oh, I just did!) but most important was that I came across it thanks to fave blogger Annabelle from Vivaluxury (here).

I couldn't resist taking the same dress: this one was the funkiest and I love the vibrancy of the colours. I commented to her if the dress would be available online, as I'd even consider flying to London to get this: thanks for my bank-account, it has been available online! (ps: sorry about the windblown hair: my blowdry was lovingly messed by the autumn-esque winds at the harbour)

Giveaway: Anna della Russo for H&M

I'm going to leave the apple for what it is, and venture into slithering decadence by giving away one Anna Della Russo for H&M Snake bracelet. Vice and wisdom has never been more tempting...

My reasons for giving this precious away:

Simply a egocentrical reason for finally reaching the 100 mark of followers and getting the 'stamp of approval' for a semi-serious blog. I kinda grew with this blog and I just want more followers without having to ask if they'd like to: I just give stuff away, total bribe-hood!

Also, I can be nice person and I actually feel that I got a couple of fine things from the Anna Della Russo collection of the level of what the word 'exuberance' cannot even contain, I'll decide to send it to a fashion-addict and possibly a AdR-fan instead of back to the H&M.

Lanvin: Loosing it's virginity

This has been one of those pieces that seemed to be too loud a couple two years ago but totally fit into the sphere of tropicality and florality of this summer.

So my Lanvin for H&M lost its wearing-virginity during the holiday.

I love how the chain handle is laced with the silky purple...It's colour-clash-tastic and that's how I like it (this season).

Insta-Labels

1. The latest Label:

Labels, women get them a lot.  One of the typical ones given is the dichotomy of virgin-wh*re? Someone has to add the mother-figure because I sometimes have been assigned to that role (somewhat similar as 'the nurse' or 'the psychologist'...or the listening, wiser (not saying wise, but wiser) and caring figure).
So I figured I should buy something from jeans-brand Mother for my figure..and it was on sale: now you must be curious if the jeans is the good-girl jeans or bad-girl hotpants ...but I don't like those kind of labels so I gladly get rid of them.

2. The Hippy Label

I actually bought them in white on sale. White jeans = not flattering on me (shoulda know that). The fact that Elle MacPerson wears them does NOT help either because she hasn't been called the body for nothing...(see pics here). I had to dye them darker and made them even more hippy. All of my fashionSchiz aside: I'm actually a hippy/bohemian at heart.

3. My 1st H&M with designer collaboration item

Stella McCartney was the second designer to collaborate with H&M in november 2005 (yikes, that explains the piling on my sweater: it's quite old then...still good quality). I don't know why I skipped the first: Meister Karl Lagerfield. Perhaps for safety reasons because the first time was so hectic. Also, I love Stella McCarney's aesthetics more than Herr Karl.


4. My Latest H&M designer collaboration item

My polka-dot pencil skirt from Marni. It's kind of lazy to buy them from internet and my first time running in the store for Stella was really memorable, but I'm actually glad it's possible like this too. I'm looking forward for the Maison Martin Margiella collaboration.


5. The lesser known Designer

Tsumori Chisato is a favourite from Helena Christensen (supermodel 90s & photographer these days). I really love her way of bohemian chic dressing so I looked into this brand when she mentioned it. Chisato uses a lot of cat-inspired designs, like this cat-faced sweatshirt I have. I would love to have more of her designs but she's quite expensive.

6. The Vintage Designer

Good old Balmain: this furry and wintery coat is from the 70s or 80s but I got it in good condition.


7. The Freebie-with-David-Beckham label

ElleUK included this Reiss tanktop tshirt with their latest issue with the David Beckham cover. As if the man would need freebies to get the ElleUK magazine to be bought (oogle over him here) ...but it still helps...

Dear Diane

Diane von Furstenberg has been collaborating with one of my favourite jeans brands Current Elliot. I really like the video made by Gia Coppola, which isn't too much about fashion but still is...:



Ah, the writer's block: my last one was during writing my final thesis for university...

I really like some of the jeans DvF has been creating with Current Elliot.

I'm just not sure which one would flaunt my wardrobe. I know black/white is the safest option, but if I go for happy hawaiian florals, I should go for the happy mint, right?

Anyway, you get get them at shopbop who has this cute lookbook featuring other DvF items.

But they're still quite expensive for $250 which is a bit drastic for a jeans that might last 2 seasons, stylewise.

I don't mind your hairy back, but...

Online purchases can mean they are either hits or misses.

Sometimes one package can have a hit and a miss. My latest hit has been the Preen/Aldo Rise pair that I showed a couple of days before.

They were not the only Aldo ones I liked, I really fancied this hairy back pair of shoes by J.W. Anderson that looked stellar on Canadian Fashion blogger Nelia Belkova.

In reality they were made of plasticy material that made them look like the cheaper variety of shoes, the heels are too high and too thin for Dutch cobblestones and I just wasn't fond of them. Oh well, Asos is not to finicky about returning so I returned them: they simply do not live up to their pricetag.

They are still on asos.com, although not on sale, for €164.81.

Rise with Preen

Preen is a relatively new designer that has been quite on the fashion-radar lately. Praised as 'One of Britain's hippest labels', it was just a matter of time for them to collaborate with a British Highstreet chain. So they did with Aldo shoes.

I had been wishlisting them on asos.com, and during a 20% off sale I thought it was right to chuck them into my cart and go for it.

Best asset= the Modernist shape of the heel

I went for a new sort of colour palette in my shoe-robe: black & white.

It will match the monochrome palette of S/S 12. Or, to give that modern edge to the classic basics.

IconoFash with Lanvin

There's a bit of a rebel in me

Fash: short for fashionable (Urbandictionary)

You can get away with a lot in fashion, but somehow I be consider that a Lanvin dress shouldn't be combined with inline skates and a cap. At least, I think some people in Holland can be uptight about some things. Some people are bound to exclaim "kan écht niet" whereas in the UK and other countries there is the idea that goes something like "everything goes". Good these Dutch standards are changing and people get more adventurous over here has well.

Somehow, I liked this combination to bring out the swagger of the dress (and it is from the Lanvin for H&M line , so pricewise I wouldn't be too bothered if I fell in it and got a hole in it).

Also, it's my effin blog so I can get away with it, ha ha. Ideally, I would take this dress out to Buenos Aires and dance a tango with it, but something more unconventional always works for me too (& I'm still stuck in Holland so Buenos Aires just have to wait).

Marni Marvelousness

I think I have the most UNROMANTIC story of how I got my Marni for H&M:

I wish I could tell about my dangerous night sleeping in front of the H&M fighting off drug-addicts who tried to stick their dirty needles into my skin, the terrifying exitement minutes before the opening where other people tried to strangle me over the time-band-access, and the battle between fashionista's who sticked their heels in my eyes just to get the perfect dress we were fighting over...

But I can't...

I just got my bloody haul online!

I did suffer some clicking-finger cramps, though...I hope that makes the story somewhat more romantic and me a more adventurous fashionista :D

Actually I couldn't have been bothered to be the zillionth blogger to write about Marni for H&M, if it weren't from a request I got from my twitter mate HabileuseHelene. I liked this girly from the start: she's a Berliner habitant & she is a tremendously cool kid ♥

The 'modelling'? Meh...maybe later...
