I've heard it through the Grapevine

I still had this promise of posting something, so there you go. This blog is for expressing my travel-lust so I think it's a part of liking to share as well.

And for the other small-town girls around, it is sometimes lonely when nobody recognizes your wonderful clothes. Mayby you guys will :). In my case I wore this Equipment dress, My Chloe mini Marcie, Greek-Sandals gladiators and my Dolce & Gabanna sunglasses.

I went to the South of France after two years and I stuck to the coast this time. This whimsical little grapevine vineyard has been the producer of a more elite wine being served at haute classe L'Orangerie at the St. Tropez coast: Chateau de Pamplonne.

Ramatuelle, the St. Tropez beach, was more casual than I expected. I'm slightly spoiled, though. I went to a couple of beach-etablissements, like the infamous Club 55: can you believe they charge you similar price on a seat at the front of the beach than Holland??? But Holland is weirdly expensive on it's space: try parking in Amsterdam under €5 for under an hour.  I'll write more on that soon enough :)

Ruffled up

1. LBD | 2. Necklace | 3. Strapless | 4. Clutch | 5. Heels | 6. Matelassé | 7. Louboutins

There's something about ruffles. Ruffles spell out a certain class and complexity that make it perfect for the Holiday Season. Something far beyond the normcore that has been around lately; or actually making a big effort for the ones you love or want to impress...

Bag-ology

Bag-ology= an apology for buying more bags...

Basically, I'm gonna quote Queen on the "I want it all...I want it now" but I shouldn't/couldn't/wouldn't. Hence, I merely share with you....

Admiring not-so-secretly: Miu Miu

Prada's little sister has been ticking the right boxes between classically chic, quirky cool and adorably cute for ss '14. They score the highest mark on my 'not so secret' crush radar with their mixture of biker textures, a newer matelasse paddiness and the gorgeous infusion of a hot red...So can I just have their whole collection?

My Essentials

Hi Babes,
Sorry for being absent for a while but I haven't been feeling the *fashion vibe* for a while. I'm starting to 'recover' from this indifference and I will show you my essentials even when I'm totally 'out of everything fashion'.

Kitten BootiesEven if I am slacking it, you will never see me in Uggs, sneakers (only holidays) or any other 'slumpy shoe'. I just pick up a sleek bootie with a walkable heel. These babes are from & Other Stories and I believe they give Givenchy & their likes a run for their money.

Primer for Foundation: I almost never face the world without 'tinted moisturizer', concealer or some foundation. That needs a primer and Laura Mercier makes a reasonable one.

Laura Mercier Brow Powder in Deep Blonde: Not always, but when I want to look stronger and more polished I add a natural but more defined brow. Otherwise I'd look like Lara Stone's uglier sister (-> no eyebrows, not that pretty and still Dutch).

Mirror Mirror: I never asked this question when younger so no wicked stepmother associations. But it's more when I drank coffee and I do not want to have 'extra dark shadows' around my mouth' etc.

Powder Foundation: I'm a bit of a snob  so I love to pick up my Givenchy powder foundation. It's a good powder foundation too for topping up on the road.

B.A.G: Yes, you know me...Even when totally 'out of it', I'd still have a good bag. It doesn't have to be expensive as this & Other Stories one was under $100. But it has to be a statement one.

Cream Blush: I am a blush-addict and I have more than 50! It's often 'youth potion' or it brings some life to your cheeks. This one is my Bobbi Brown Pale pink. A cream blush works differently and more natural than a powder.

Powder blush: I use a powder blush when I want a 'statement face' or a more 'make up' look: some people want to see you "made an effort" so it shows a bit more. This one is NARS Deep Throat, still natural but more visible with a heavier hand.

MAC Patina: This is such a classic eyeshadow: I think everyone has this neutral. I love it on days when I do not want to think too much about makeup, but still be polished.

Foundation Brush: I often skip the brushes/foam pads in foundation compacts and bring a professional brush along with me. This one is from Adesign and totally perfect for a flawless application. L♥ve it!

For the rest, I love to make fashionphotos again but this time my excuse is that I gained weight (3 kg)! I have been really healthy lately so I blame the excess of advocados blended in my umpteenth smoothies. I know there are more normal sized fashiongirls on the block but I don't like people to giggle and think "ahh, good...MlleWanderlust gained weight...!". Not everyone is so nice as the comments I get. Although I love most of my commenters a lot ♥♥

Baby Balenciaga

I planned to put the blog on hiatus and end with the hot men (previous post), then Balenciaga came in again.

It's the Balenciaga Date in Corail Rose and has a back-pocket, which makes it different from the Hip version. It will probably the the only date for the time being: I have been on non-active since my last one because   ______

Yeh, let's do guess the blanks ; )

Shoe-Siren or Bag-Babe?

* bagging = dating according to Urbandictionary definition 3

I am not sure if the binary had been drawn in Sex & the City or by other female oracles, but fashionable girls either seem to prefer one over the other...or, are you more into shoes or bags?

Funnily, I found out that it is not just girls among each other who make this distinction. To the hilarious feed I dispose at my twitter followers, and the ones who get to my hashtags (sounds a bit naughty, right, "getting to your #hashtags), they know I'm single these days. Dating or mingling among men can be totally #hilarious, or #frustrating when one is like "you're too smart for me" and I should have behaved like the ditsy Dutch blonde he was expecting me to be: #lame #excuse. You cannot put too on Facebook if they are still (should I defriend them or not?) Friends.

Anyway, one of the guys I was communicating with was so friendly to stereotype me as the girl who "loves shoes". I, a-fashionfan-who sometimes-tries-to look-cool-(aka Tomboy)-among-men, was slightly insulted because:
1. I LOVE bags
2. I like shoes

I hesitated defining the difference among this clueless specimen of the other sex, but I think the blog is a better forum for this, right girls?

Anyway, there are women (and some men) who are equally into both and having a bi-symmetrical interest in this, or they just love luxury so much and bring in some sunnies too. I personally prefer bags over shoes because most bags have the quality to:

1. always be comfortable (unless too tiny or too big)
2. don't cause bunions
3. travel mate to carry your belovings
4.  I love fondling with them when slightly insecure or nervous
5. no explanation, I just love them!

But, I'd like to know your preference: Bags, Shoes or Both?

Nice Sale Leftovers

Hi and I'm re-integrating into blogging again.

I took of my personal talk dilemma I posted on earlier: perhaps too much oversharing and the fact I often encountered tourist gigolos is not that interesting...My previous article made me wonder about badly dressed gay men, though. Perhaps the stereotype that they always dress fashionable is not that accurate?

So let's talk Sales, or some fantastic leftovers that are trans-seasonal. The bikini not really but I make them transseasonal by going on winter holidays anyway...I feel better bloggin about fashion anyway!

Metallics & Flowers

Jumpsuit: Lefties, (also cute) | Bag: Burberry | Choker: Zara Spring 13 | Shoes: Zara SS 13 | Armwear: various friendshipbands | Hat:ystrdy
In this post I'm wearing my new bag in a feminine tomboy way..I gave it a bit of competition with the tropical flowerfest of my €11 jumpsuit. I actually like jumpsuits for warmer weather as they have the easiness of a dress but you do not have to worry about crossing your legs all the time :-).

Hehe, and I wanted to show off my arms by this photo...or sniff my own armpits if the deodorant still works?

A New Tiny

Bag-fetishist like I am, I scored this one on sale...

So if you guess the designer you might win it...ehm, just kidding. I like this one too much. Clue: it's not Balenciaga even though I had a big crush on this brand some time ago...

Robin Blue

It might be the fact that Eastern is around the corner, but I am craving robin blues & powdery blues, and too expensive bags...ofcourse

Havana

Cuba has been really high on my traveller's wishlist since I was really young: my curiosity towards a stubborn country against the odds and such a world-power as a neighbour (the US) spoke to my imagination.

So why now after all this time? Cheap travel opportunity by probably the same capitalist structure older Cuba would frown upon, however, I took my opportunity and visited it for a reasonable price.

Havana was beautiful but also slightly polluted, and, when not seen through tourists eyes, sometimes melancholic too. This picture has been taken at Havana harbour and I wear an older H&M maxidress, a newer Chloe Marcie bag in poppy (here) and some Ancient Greek Sandals (here), and...ofcourse, my Balanciaga bracelet. My sunnies were a dead-ringer for Miu Miu, only copycatted by ASOS (here).

The animated effect is one of the features of my Nikon D5100. I still have to play with it to get more expertise on the field of photography: I prefer to be behind the lens than before it, though.
