I have these moments I ignore all fashiontrends. It has been with this watch: Ok, it has a rose-gold cast but its nowhere near the Michael Kors trend of bulky, masculine-style watches. That is why I love it, and because it's the most spring-like watch ever. Plus it will match a good amount of fashionable pastels I'm planning to wear for this season :).

Admiring not-so-secretly: Miu Miu

Prada's little sister has been ticking the right boxes between classically chic, quirky cool and adorably cute for ss '14. They score the highest mark on my 'not so secret' crush radar with their mixture of biker textures, a newer matelasse paddiness and the gorgeous infusion of a hot red...So can I just have their whole collection?

French Countryside

I never blogged about my French Countryside experience, so there you go: part I.

Simple outfit because I went for a hike: wearing Massimo Dutti floral pants from Barcelona, Tshirt- Paul & Joe (freebie French Glamour) & the hat is a souvenir from Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer. Not too much editing because the colours were splendid and I didn't edit my curves away because I'm an honest blogger ;). Photos were taken near Apt. I will show more photos soon: not really featuring me because tripod stayed home out of stuffing-too-much-clothes-in-my-bag, but there will be French men featured so keep an eye on this space.

Lanvin: Loosing it's virginity

This has been one of those pieces that seemed to be too loud a couple two years ago but totally fit into the sphere of tropicality and florality of this summer.

So my Lanvin for H&M lost its wearing-virginity during the holiday.

I love how the chain handle is laced with the silky purple...It's colour-clash-tastic and that's how I like it (this season).

New in

I think I only camped 3 times in my life and I never pitched my own tent.

But I planned a festival this season and I needed a tent that is both cute and easy to set up. This one has a tutorial online and I believe it's one of the one-minute types, which will mean 6 minutes in MlleW time. It kinda taps into the floral tent and my desire to have a tent that's girly for myself.

The first full-on floral trousers I bought were a super-moment: It was during the Paris Fashionweek and the trend hadn't really appeared on the Dutch streets yet. Floral trousers are more common now and I brought them out this saturday for a stroll on the Fabric market in Utrecht. I actually got a compliment that they were "cool" and where I bought the fabric and how I made it. Uhuh, I had to admit I am not that experted on the DIY front and that they were from Theoutnet. But the girl and mother who complimented me were even more motivated to buy a bold-floral piece of fabric and make a jumpsuit: that's so lovely!

It's a kind of a good-girl-gone-bad theme today but still with a hint of good girl. My inspiration came from the fantastic posts of the many talented fashionbloggers I read frequently. Actually, I was a black leather peplum top from H&M on a blog which spelled out total good-girl/bad-girl confusion. So I brought that to this post with mixing two contrasting textures, colours & clothing concepts together.

I feel leather pants brings out the melancholic in me:  Somehow I cannot imagine being a happy, cheerleader-esque person in leather pants because of the 'cool girl'  aura it has. Perhaps if leather pants would come in peach, lilac & baby blue tones? As for crop-tops, they are actually quite 'cheerleader'. I actually like this season's crop-top & bralet trends! I wore them a lot in my teens! But there comes the issue of being age-appropriate!  So I tied my Equipment blouse above the waist, but kept a darker, matching top underneath to keep it age-appropriate or not so bare.

Paige Chello

I really want to continue the dodgy music theme and almost wanted to title this 'Chello, it is me you lookin' fo?' but I couldn't bare be that simple. Never mind I like Lionel Richie a lot, and his daughter's style too.

Talking about cult daughters brings me to cult jeans, which, right now is florals (pastel too, but florals take it up a nodge). I got myself the Paige Chello after serious fashion investigation, eg here. Of all the floral jeans out there I really liked the combination of florals & colours on the Chello the most.

Paige isn't really cheap and you get the hassle with ordering them online (both at Revolveclothing & Shopbop). But the quality of the jeans is quite thick & sturdy so it will work for a winterjeans ánd will flatter legs that aren't stick-thin or overexcersized.

Some cheaper options are the Zara Floral jeans for 39.95 , which is quite a good & thick fabric which helps the not-too-perfect leggy ones among us (the 0.001 % who isn't either a model, anorexic or sportsaddict)

Or a flimsier fabrik is the one from NewLook, but that pattern is so lovely and it's quite cheap if you do not want to splurge too much on this trend.

This weekend I will be 'body-fitting' them by wearing them a couple of times before washing them. The normal strategy for making jeans & skinnies really fitting for your body should be wearing them for a month without washing (or denimgeek talks about 6 months????) but that would be too bizarre for me.

New Vintage

Something I bought a while ago at Sussies.

It's a playsuit, it's vintage and it's happy Hawaiian florals. It is not too short for my leggos and I love the sleeves.

Now, where's that 20°C or warmer weather so I can wear this happy number?

'Granny' Chic

She probably dressed a bit more modest right there than when working as a burlesque dancer, but Eve La Plume sure gives the word fiery redhead a gorgeous spin.

I love how she works granny style in a whimsical and utterly fashionable way. I'm not sure I could translate it in my own style: it probably needs some redhead vigeur and a 1940's burlesque attitude. Perhaps I would throw a biker jacket over it for some more attitude: (one in conventional black or a pastel biker to continue the sugar rush).
