Friday Amsterdam

This weekend is going to be warm and summery in Amsterdam. There are a lot of events going on: Taste (a foodie festival), Amsterdam Open Air (techno etc) and Shoeless for a hippy feeling. The boats will get out on the canals and the wine bottles will cork open easily.

For all fellow Dutchies, have fun this weekend. For anyone in good or even murky weather, have an excellent time as well ᶘ ᵒᴥᵒᶅ

Friday's Instas

Orange you glad to see me? Or does my outfit match | creating my Earcuff post | A Virgin Mary Money saving bank? Ohhh, let's spend on that one

Pretty Organic Olive Oil | Quote of the week | UO: trying another leather jacket

This week has been a dynamic week. I posted this week Outfitted without too much thin-photoshop because I want to show that not every woman should get an eating disorder to look fashionable. And shopping, yeh, I'm in and out of changing rooms to try out various trends. The urban Outfitter's pic shows I often go tomboy-pose when trying on leather jackets. I like having voyeurs like the girl with the cute fringe who check if the outfit looks OK on me. She's my BBF now  ♥

Instagram-habits
#beerbike
I love instagram. Actually, I have been there from the beginning when it wasn't that popular yet (2 years ago) and I have + 1700 photos on right now.

#hippydutchbike

There are certain instagram-patterns and I have become a "visual traveller" and let my followers or people who find me 'travel' to Holland as well.
It came that way because I am not a face-uploader due to the fact I am not #swedish (that tag gets lots of faces) nor under 24 years. I prefer to revert my face/eyes towards the world and show what I see, so I started with cityscapes edited and that got me my followers.

#Springbike
At a certain moment I started to look for images my followers around the world like: for example...Dutchness, eg by a display of  #happydutchbikes (see above).

The next photo wouldn't do that good as the bikes. Ok, we have #Amsterdam & #canal , but #seebychloeshoes in #offwhite or #borrowedCeline aren't hot topics among (most of my) followers:

perhaps #Shoefetishists&Celinelovers would be enticed
True, sometimes I like to make a pretty photo of a #balenciaga, but most of my followers are not the type that likes to stare at #designerbags. So, I get to the tomboy-girlygirl dichtomy again and I seem to be that typical combination of both on Instagram as well.

What do you photograph the most on Instagram. And do you have a 'multiple social-media personality' as well, eg talking fashion at certain medias & #cityscapes at others?

Saint ][ Sinner

Shoes: Miu MIu ][ Sweater: Topshop ][ skirt: Vanessa Bruno ][Tights: Galstern on Etsy ][ Beret: H&M (cute one here) ][ wristlet: Gwp from Givenchy makeup  ][ bracelets: mix of COS, vintage, & etsy ][ whip: horserider's shop

The idea of saint & sinner has been frequently portrayed in literature, art, music, and fashion often plays with these notions too. I thought Amsterdam was the perfect city for portraying the contrast between the mostly nice girl part of my outfit, and thát accessory that gives it...an edge! Some people in Amsterdam still gave me stares while I was whipping around in front of the cam, so it's not that we (Dutch) are used to everything ;-)

Disclaimer: No real people, photographers or other animals were hurt during this photoshoot.

Also, I've been practicing some typical model-faces I've been seeing around...you can vote which one suits me best in the comment section but I even have more faces...

Greetings from Amsterdam

Hi everyone,

First a Happy Saturday from a sunny Amsterdam. I got out of the too-comfort dressing and thought I would whip it up...literary...by playing with the juxtaposition between good girl (fluffy sweater/bows/ribbons/sweet barette) and the extra accessory making it slightly bad girl.

I will be deconstructing my outfit soon (I hope Derrida won't be mad using his incredibly importantly coined term for fashion-use) and get some more photos up, but for now on...

have fun this weekend! And book a trip to Amsterdam!

(disclaimer: I seriously have the whip for the equine species only (horses) in real life, and for the animal lovers; only when he/she really doesn't wanna walk)

Vogue Fashion Night: Dutch Edition

Armed with a camera, more makeup than normal, a flexible Helmut Lang dress and some heels-I-could-run-away-with I visited VFN in Amsterdam...

Just a quick round (1 hr) to cure my curiosity of what models would look like in real life [really thin] and a whole bunch of fashion-addicts [really beautifully groomed]. It was more fun than I'd bargained for...

As for the Maje coat in Ph 7: want, especially the one with the leather sleeves (not available in Amsterdam yet)
