Mad about Mod

Stylechat:

I'm delightfully ignoring all normcore activities and have gone quite Mod about fashion: hair, clothing & attitude.

My favorite seasonal piece must be my grey & splitted Topshop skirt: they have this sportswear fabric but in a cool shape. The boots are not Marant but Lola Cruz,  I cheated on it. Actually I'm not sorry because I really like Lola Cruz's designs! Everything else is either white, grey or black. Although I'm tending to wear more colour again so you might see me with something canary bright soon!

Splurge or Steal

Now we're officially being exhausted from the Fashionweeks -> time to digest the trends. For this season there's the return to the sixties. The Fashionforward ones probably have been either wowed or gotten slightly nauseous of Moschino's Barbie Kitch SS 15. Either way, both skirts will inject a hint of the 1960s and a beginning dose of sugary pink into your dressing. And you've just been embracing Tomboy-healthy aesthetics, right?

On the left is the affordable Topshop version under €50, and if you actually have Barbie legs you might wanna signal 'hands off' and get the quirky Opening Ceremony one on the right.

fashionskirting: unexpected cutouts

Oopsiedaisy, after last post you might think that I'm not liking the pretty [thin] fashion people but I actually do. I also like seeing new trends and spinning them around a bit differently. Lots of newer skirt-lenghts & shapes are around and pencilskirts seem to be as back as ever. So I combined this image of the beautiful superstunning Anna Martinova for S Style & Fashion (see total here) with this Opening Ceremony's skirt. Ok, not really the same but who but models only could get away with hip-detail like that. The idea is an cutout that is unexpected, daring but also fashion enough for the last week in Paris.

Fluttering Hummingbird

I'm eyeing up this pencil skirt with a digital twist from McQ. I have a thing for hummingbirds (see banner),  adding to this that I like digital prints, and modest skirts with a twist...

Also, the rear-side is in unprinted black: perfect for girls that do not really want too much accent on that area:

Do or don't?

I spotted them here

Dedicated to Alice...

This 'shoot' is not with Mr. Cameraman-on-a-stick yet, which probably is the reason I do not flirt enough nor look totally relaxed. Anyhow, the story is not about flirting either...

"Alice is standing on the bench in nature, letting her hair flow in the wind"

wearing: Zara babypink pleather biker jacket (2009), Topshop skirt, Kurt Geiger shoes (Chloe 2007 lookalikes), Uniqo Top, Venetian Mask from Mooi& Belle, tights: Balstern, Cuff: COS

"But she wants to stay anonymous after her mask goes of"

"Which brings me to the title: Who the * is Alice?"

The shoes & tights are the thing I am most wild about. The shoes are the look-a-likes from the Chloë 2007 shoe collection I have been highly coveting. That story will be continued soon..

I like the skirt, but realise that a pleaded skirt is not doing any favours for girls with hips: I'm always the curvy hips girl with a trained sixpack! (My hips are beyond training, though) I think it will work better on skinny girls who like to give the illusion of having curves. Still, I adore the digital print and the fact I got this one in the ÜberTopshop of all Topshops on Oxford street.

Oh, my real name isn't Alice, and I love to show my face all the time because as myself I am a real confident person...eh, used to be?
