Most of my 'Destination Sunny' set are about fantasies: the backpacker traveller probably sounds easier and more approachable than the Glam St. Tropez woman. However, I wouldn't last that long if I wouldn't have my daily clean clothes and underwear. Still, I would love to feel free enough to hitchhike with my essentials in a sack, travelling from one spot to another, without planning...

So, I gotten fantastical and not so practical by adding that sequinned croptop (1) and those amazing boots (10). However, not loosing reality and slightly facing my fear of having diarrhea in not-to-fancy hostels, quelle horreur!-> no 6!... And the undies? I love my fancy lingerie but practicality probably will have to guide me into those cheek-covering ones instead of the sensual thongs, and black is more forgiving when you really cannot change every day (again, quelle horreur!).

So, have you been backpacking and how's reality?

Destination Sunny: Ibiza

Less bikinis and more sequins. More is definitely more on Ibiza. 

You will be needing your Sin Tshirt to spell it out! The A-morir Shades to give some extra blinding against the oh so brutal sun after a night of party. The sequins bumbag is to get extra kitch, because Kitch is the new Chic. And you could not be bothered with holding any purse so at least the money/keys/lipstick were strapped against your body.

Superbright Lipstick? Nars Schiap is there! A bodycon, sequinned, multicoloured dress because Ibiza is no place for wallflowers. A couple of sequinned harems, because they are called Pacha already so you might get a discount on that superexpensive entry ticket. 
Ah sun? Right...Good you packed your Running Horses Bikini. You only wear espadrilles when they have Kate's face on it! Gianvito Rossi hologram shoes because they are chic enough for a fancier dinner and perfect for clubbing too...

Marant's Crochet, Clements Ribeiro and Monki

This sale-season I felt more like saving for the upcoming collections than to splurge on items that are almost last season. I did buy some that are more into the neutral (timeless) category:

* Clements Ribeiro Cashmere Sweater

Originally in the €400 pricerange and discounted to a €150.
Actually, this has been a RTS (return to Sender) but I liked the cosiness of the picture that I put it on first.

The designs of (married) Suzanne Clements and Inacio Ribeiro have been on my "wanna-have" style radar since seeing his Esher-esque prints in 2011 (see here). A quirky spin on the cashmere sweater in one of the more flattering tones for my complexion would be a good buy:

Unfortunately, the cashmere wasn't so soft. I have a COS sweater that is much softer.

 

Adding to that: the size is perfect but the lenght made it a croptop. Not something I am looking for in a classic and time-lasting cashmere sweater. Also, the jewellery detailing? Kinda plastic, don't you think?

• Isabel Marant Étoile Crochet dress 

Discounted from €200 (something) to €75. 

I have been seeing quite some crotchet clothes on other blogs recently and realised it is a perfect piece of dressing during summer. Moreover, it can also work as a trans-seasonal piece to tone down the bright and tropical gear I adore to wear.

• Monki Sequin collared sheer blouse

This is not a sale but people who know Monki know it's a similar price range as H&M or Forever 21. I love this one for it's delicate sequin collar. They opened a Monki store in Utrecht this year and I am not sure if it is in Amsterdam as well.

Have you splurged during the sales or do you wait for the newer collections?

Butterfly

I got a reasonable stash of dresss and I found this Butterfly by Matthew Williamson  1920s-inspired dress while rummaging in some boxes.  

(I think I bought this one in 2007)

I don't reach often for a LBD but the amount of sparkles and crêpe texture makes it reminiscent of the Flapper era, therefore a cute little number for warm summer nights.

It's the type of dress they might wear in  The Great Gatsby. I loved that book so much so I am really looking forward if the film will have a similar aura. I like the pick of actors, though.

Saturday Sequins & Pyjama Parties

 Look 1:  After Office Hours

Look 2: Back to Business 

Outfit: similar, only with French Sole Harriet ballet flats & without Topshop sequin jacket.

I wanted to take a predictable business/office look and take it to a quirkier level: I layered a sequin jacket over a Equipment pyjama-stripe blouse, which makes it perfect for going out after a day in the office. I created a look that is more androgynous/tomboy than I normally go for.

I am, stylewise, somewhere between girly girl and standard girl. I often wear a lot of makeup in all of my outfitted photos (but I seem to look natural: perhaps I should layer it on slightly clownlike to look like other girlbloggers). Also, I love dresses and skirts almost as much as bags. I'm just not supergirly because I do not wear heels all the time: sometimes I need to move around a bit quicker, right?
