Dar[l]ing Dutch

Bag: Chloe Marcie | Coat: Asos (similar) | sweater: Forever 21 | Trousers: & Other Stories | Shoes: Zara (similar)
Who said darlings can't be daring?
I wanted have some typically Dutch landscape so I gotten into the polder for this one.

The outfit looks kinda confused bohemian: all of these new pastels and revisited ethnic patterns. I look like my mum in the 70s...or my dad could have worn these trousers too. Often children have something of both so that figures :).
Have a superb weekend

After we Met...

Dress: ASOS (old: love this one , gorgeous red here & this one) | Clutch: Vintage (something alike) | Shoes: Zara (in turquoise too) | Mask: Venetian (gorgeous ones here)| Suede Laser cutout Jacket: Topshop (Adore this Muuba one)  | Necklace : Similar | Ring: gift
It has been the whole mix-up of events that I wanted to go beautiful gown: the Met-Gala, the crowning of the Dutch King & Queen, and "the Great Gatsby" ofcourse.
Details of accessories & Opi Do You Lilac is as pedi (not that visible)
It has been about finding my own dress:  I basically think it is not that you should just look good in your dress: you should feel good about your dress as well as to make you the women you would like to become: "mermaid", "romantic", "princess" or perhaps "femme fatale", "sexgoddess" or "dominatrix". Mine made me feel romantic and mermaid-like.

The jacket is both whimiscal by the artistic cutouts and has a cooler vibe by its black suede bikershape. The peek-a-boo laser-cutout enhances my strong and toned back. After all, fashion is also playing up the parts of your body that you are proud of.

My only gripe is my curvy hips, ofcourse, but after seeing Beyonce on billboards for H&M I do not feel that uncomfortable about looking feminine on photos.

So, what do you think about the dresses at the Met this year?

Robin Blue

It might be the fact that Eastern is around the corner, but I am craving robin blues & powdery blues, and too expensive bags...ofcourse

Collar me...please

I've gotten into this whole "girls who wanna be boys...boys who wanna be girls"  structure (again), and then there is Bowie who is getting some FAB credits again.

Believe me, I might not be the youngest blogger on the blog but even I was too young to experience David Bowie. I saw this "who the fuck is Mick Jagger" t-shirt (here) and I wouldn't know either if my parents weren't too music-addicted and the tunes of "I can't get noooo...satisfaction" seeped into my infant brain.

OK, David Bowie...His latest video features a very Dolled-up Tilda Swinton, voodoo-esque interference of a younger generation, massive copycat-ting, and...tadaah, the collar by Bjorg
jewellery ♥.
Androgyne meetup with collar

I always like to see who the big stars are attracted to. Bowie was rumoured to be bisexual. He chosen Iman with killer cheekbones and supermodel gorgeousness to be his wife.
Iman (Bowie's wife)

Here is the couple together in Cape town...I cannot get over the bodylanguage of the two:
from Thatbowiegirl Tumblr (here)
It's the fact that normally the woman takes the limelight of the photo and is the one who flirts the most with the camera: dear Mr. Bowie is like "All eyes on me, people"

That's enough chat for today as an alternative to the feed of Paris fashion Week...Enjoy the last week of the fashionweeks sessions!

Havana

Cuba has been really high on my traveller's wishlist since I was really young: my curiosity towards a stubborn country against the odds and such a world-power as a neighbour (the US) spoke to my imagination.

So why now after all this time? Cheap travel opportunity by probably the same capitalist structure older Cuba would frown upon, however, I took my opportunity and visited it for a reasonable price.

Havana was beautiful but also slightly polluted, and, when not seen through tourists eyes, sometimes melancholic too. This picture has been taken at Havana harbour and I wear an older H&M maxidress, a newer Chloe Marcie bag in poppy (here) and some Ancient Greek Sandals (here), and...ofcourse, my Balanciaga bracelet. My sunnies were a dead-ringer for Miu Miu, only copycatted by ASOS (here).

The animated effect is one of the features of my Nikon D5100. I still have to play with it to get more expertise on the field of photography: I prefer to be behind the lens than before it, though.

Tartan Frills & Highlander Skills

Dress: Lily Allen for New Look (gorgous Marchesa here) ][ Jacket: Topshop (similar)][ Shoes: Irregular Choice (vintage here, cute flats here, & Nicolas Kirkwood here)][ Necklace: Stradivarus (similar)][ Umbrella:1 euro shop (various ones) ][ Earrings :ASOS (similar)

The weather cooperated in being quite Scottish to me: some drizzly rain that matches my Highlander tartans and ruffly dress. And I like me some golden shoes with some brocade flowers upon it.

ps: anyone else having Xmas-food 'expansion'? My face looks like a poofball after too much turkey & wine: I hope to see the return of my cheekbones in 2013 ;P
