Bag-ology

Bag-ology= an apology for buying more bags...

Basically, I'm gonna quote Queen on the "I want it all...I want it now" but I shouldn't/couldn't/wouldn't. Hence, I merely share with you....

Baby Balenciaga

I planned to put the blog on hiatus and end with the hot men (previous post), then Balenciaga came in again.

It's the Balenciaga Date in Corail Rose and has a back-pocket, which makes it different from the Hip version. It will probably the the only date for the time being: I have been on non-active since my last one because   ______

Yeh, let's do guess the blanks ; )

Shoe-Siren or Bag-Babe?

* bagging = dating according to Urbandictionary definition 3

I am not sure if the binary had been drawn in Sex & the City or by other female oracles, but fashionable girls either seem to prefer one over the other...or, are you more into shoes or bags?

Funnily, I found out that it is not just girls among each other who make this distinction. To the hilarious feed I dispose at my twitter followers, and the ones who get to my hashtags (sounds a bit naughty, right, "getting to your #hashtags), they know I'm single these days. Dating or mingling among men can be totally #hilarious, or #frustrating when one is like "you're too smart for me" and I should have behaved like the ditsy Dutch blonde he was expecting me to be: #lame #excuse. You cannot put too on Facebook if they are still (should I defriend them or not?) Friends.

Anyway, one of the guys I was communicating with was so friendly to stereotype me as the girl who "loves shoes". I, a-fashionfan-who sometimes-tries-to look-cool-(aka Tomboy)-among-men, was slightly insulted because:
1. I LOVE bags
2. I like shoes

I hesitated defining the difference among this clueless specimen of the other sex, but I think the blog is a better forum for this, right girls?

Anyway, there are women (and some men) who are equally into both and having a bi-symmetrical interest in this, or they just love luxury so much and bring in some sunnies too. I personally prefer bags over shoes because most bags have the quality to:

1. always be comfortable (unless too tiny or too big)
2. don't cause bunions
3. travel mate to carry your belovings
4.  I love fondling with them when slightly insecure or nervous
5. no explanation, I just love them!

But, I'd like to know your preference: Bags, Shoes or Both?

A New Tiny

Bag-fetishist like I am, I scored this one on sale...

So if you guess the designer you might win it...ehm, just kidding. I like this one too much. Clue: it's not Balenciaga even though I had a big crush on this brand some time ago...

[Fashion hide]

Sorry for this fashion hiatus. You might not think this, but I'm quite a perfectionist about some things: I wanted that photoshopped perfection that some of the bloggers have and my photos just came out funny:

By lack of good photographers & photoshop, I'd just enhance my features with Loubous: it's that moment when a pointy nose looks haute enough (and saves me on red lipstick).

For the time being I totally wanted to adopt Baby Nightingale

And I'd gotten a bit more redhead that I had to pair up with a sultry stare:
dress: DvF
*Finally a pose that works: I've opted the slightly-tilted 'curious' eyes* instead of that slightly open mouth some people do, but that doesn't look so good on me in photos.

Preparing for the new king by this Jovoy Candle "Vive le Roy" (fr= long live the king)

I also found some cows on the beach:
Trousers: Topshop | Top: Isabel Marant etoile | Bikini: Pucci (No, I'm not topless!)
Who ran away from me: they must think my eyes looked too hungry and they'd become steak.

I really love these Topshop wide-legged trousers I wore in there as a hint to Oriental SS 13.

The Marant you have seen before over here.

and I had to handwash them:

that feels so unglamorous but when you like your fashion, you have to be gentle about them.

As for my personal style: I've been wearing eclectic (cow/beach outfit), feminine (DvF) to classic French style.

Or, mixing it up a bit!

Robin Blue

It might be the fact that Eastern is around the corner, but I am craving robin blues & powdery blues, and too expensive bags...ofcourse

Sculpturific Bagisms

I cannot ignore to look at the beautiful structure and colour of this bag.

Antigona is not an everywoman's bag. I used to be the owner of one but sold it because a bag is like a love-story, and if it isn't there it just isn't...

However, I think this will Givenchy look stunning on various people and perhaps it's a good hint to leave this page open for your partner who is still debating what to give you for Chrismas...(only if it doesn't result in debts, ofcourse).

(spotted it here )

Mulberry Bagisms

This weekend Harrods will have a 10% member's discount. I like the look of Del Rey, however, I miss the strap, or a longer handle.

It can only be held in this way like the muse of the bag does

Or as she does over here

It's fun to see her smiling when you know her signature face is one of that sulky and heartbroken seductress.

Then there is Maisie, being held by the kittenish Lindsey who's has a moment of plushophilia with big fluffy

I adore the shape: hexagonal!
But those colours they are featured in are either boring or rather too patriachic for Dutch people.  Ok, there is a teal one but it has fur on the sides.

Also I miss the gold/silver detailing of the lock that has been sprayed in the same colour.

such a shame

Here comes my small bag-fetish again! Bryn!

Yes baby: it's a colour I like, it has a strap, and it has three, YES, three options for the lock, all in gold ememblem.

On Mulberry's other muse, Alexa:

Basically, you don't have to use the strap if you want to be more dainty!

Ok, I think I have my favourite. But wait! That one is not on Harrods.com so there goes my discount.

Perhaps I could get it from the mulberry store directly.

Wishlist: Tiny Bags

Clockwise left: Reed Krakoff Standard mini Leather ][ Chloë Marcie Small ][ Yves Saint Laurent Belle Du Jour Clutch ][ Miu Miu Leather Drawstring bag ][ See By Chloë Poya

It must have something to do with enjoying my smaller Jerome Dreyfuss a lot, and wanting to try a new brand. Cheating somewhat because I already own a Chloë and because I love it I'd (mini)splurge again.

I'm a bit contra-trend because there's nothing Cameo, Gothic leather, or other AW 2012 trends going on, but I love the fresh femininity of these colours.

Saturday Bagtalk: the Vintage Céline

The Céline is of 2007 before it got its hype-fashion name. It's lovely to have a piece from that period. The size is on the smaller size as a true clutch-box size and has a harder texture: it can fit my children's size Maison Person brush and one lipstick tops.

Do you have a special vintage item or a designer item that you bought before it got all hyped over?

Antigona, Strollin' around

The photos might be edited with Cinerama, but I'm just the supporting actress:
My Givenchy Antigona is the real St✰r here

Outfit: Bag: Givenchy Antigone small (bagporn-post here & hot lipstick red one preorder here or larger sizes here and here), shoes: Chloë Buckle , Skinny jeans: DL1960 Angel in Icing, Top: M Missioni, Suede bolero Jacket: Selected Femme, Belt: COS, ,  Necklace: Monserrat de Luca , Bangles: COS. Earrings: Gorjana Fairytale. Nails: Essie Russian Roulette

Last week I received my Givenchy Antigona and I could 'air' her in the late afternoon in a pictoresque urban setting. It is a smaller bag, or it said picollo on the bill, but precisely what I anticipated for. It has a sturdy structure reminiscent of old school doctor's bags which makes it perfect for stronger Mlles like I am.

I love my new Choë's and they walk quite easily for a higher heel. As for the DL1960 Angel skinny: I don't like them so much and I call them my mum's jeans. Seriously, my other pricy skinnies like Paige are much more subtle in hiding my female puppy fat and look more expensive too..I love the 'Icing' colour, though, not too pastel but different enough from being a standard jeansy colour. I have them since February, btw.
